What does this app do?Designed as a Lost and Found app, this app is intended to make it easier and quicker for people to get reunited with lost items. It works on the assumption that the finder will want to return the item to the owner
How does it work?1. You create an account (username and password). 2. You buy some QR codes using your credit card (this process involves saving your address so we can post you the labels). 3. You can either. a) when you receive the physical labels in the post from us, use those - the physical labels we will send you for free are long lasting/durable labels with a laminate overlay and a permanent adhesive back. b) use them immediately by downloading the QR codes from the 'My QR Codes' page, print them off and put them on your items. You can use a variety of ways to apply/put the QR codes on your items. For example, you could use normal printer paper, cut out the QR codes and use transparent tape to fix the QR codes to your items. Alternatively, you could buy printer paper with an adhesive back - then when you print out the QR codes and cut the QR codes out, you could peel off the adhesive back and stick the QR code on your items. Printer paper with an adhesive side is sold in most printer paper shops
What does this cost? The base price is CHF 8.99 before taxes, postage and packaging for one year - for that, you get 20 high quality and long lasting labels, laminated for longer life and with a permanent adhesive back
Could I print out the same QR code multiple times and use it on different items? The application is not intended to have the same QR code on many different items - KindQR does not authorise this and such use is against our policy. While digital PDF's are provided in addition to the physical labels provided for free, the intention of providing these pdf's is as a backup in case a physical label is lost and you wish to continue re-using a code which you licenced. We intend to introduce a 'per message pricing plan' in the future, with a cost per message to discourage abuse of the system
Where do you ship to?Currently we are registered for export/import tax in the European Union and Switzerland. We are currently expanding to other countries and will update new market countries, as they give us approval
When will I receive my physical KindQR labels? As of 6th February 2025, we expect to have the next stock of high quality physical labels by the 20th February 2025 and will dispatch those to customers after they have passed through quality checks. Postage to customers in Europe/Switzerland usually takes 3 days, so if you have purchased by that date you can expect your labels by the 24th February 2025
Is my message board private? No. Your message board is not private. Others could in theory read it - which is why we would like you to treat it as a public notice board. However, because the QR code is the address for your message board, it is extremely difficult for someone to guess where your public notice board is on the internet
Could someone guess my QR Code (i.e. my notice board) ?In theory, yes, anything is possible. However the QR Code (notice board) is a huge number. In computer terms it is 256 bit hashed - that is equivalent to a 78 digit number. This number is huge: it's like this big: 115,792,089,237,316,195,423,570,985,008,687,907,853,269,984,665,640,564,039,457,584,007,913,129,639,936 (a 78-digit number) - it is very difficult to guess. So you know where the noticeboard is and the finder knows where the noticeboard is and you can both exchange messages on that noticeboard.
What are your support hours? We, are a team of one person and I must sleep and have other needs. I will do my best to get to your question, however, these will be prioritised and I will deal with items in highest priority which 1. I can actually do something about and 2. which will add value to peoples lives
Is this a charity? No. We intend to give 51% of all profits to charity, however the application is not designed to be a full charity
How do I contact your support?Fill out the form on the Contact page - as of the time of writing, this page is not yet active, so please bear with us
Where is your office?Mostly, my office is my kitchen table, sometimes it is at a cafe and you never know, maybe sometime, I might be sitting right next to you, so please be kind
What can I do to help? While you might not lose items, you may know someone who does. At the very least, you could share this application with someone who might benefit from it - you would be surprised how a small thing might change someones life for the better. In addition, consider what skill you have to offer our mission and maybe we could work together. For instance, are you a developer and would you be interested in extend this platform? Do you have marketing skills and are you interested in promoting this application? I have a clear vision of functionality yet to be developed (the backlog).
